CHARLOTTESVILLE  - The 10th-ranked Virginia men's soccer team will look to remain unbeaten this season in non-conference play when it hosts American on Tuesday (Nov. 3) at Klöckner Stadium. Kick-off is 7 p.m., and live statistics will be available at VirginiaSports.com.

Virginia (10-3-2) is ranked No. 10 in both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and Soccer America top 25, and is unbeaten with a 4-0-2 record in its last six games. Additionally, UVa has not lost a match to a non-conference opponent this season, holding a 7-0-1 record in those games.

The Cavaliers are coming off their third-straight shutout, a scoreless draw at No. 6 Maryland Saturday (Oct. 31) night. Defensively, UVa is allowing less than 0.50 goals per game, and ranks sixth nationally in that category. Goalkeeper Diego Restrepo (West Palm Beach, Fla.) has allowed just seven goals in 15 games while posting seven shutouts.

Offensively, Will Bates (Chester, Va.) leads the team with six goals and one assist, followed by Neil Barlow (Herndon, Va.) with four goals and four assists.

Virginia leads the all-time series with American, 14-3, and has won eight-straight contests vs. the Eagles. The last American victory over the Cavaliers came during the 1998 season.

The Eagles (9-4-2) are coming off of a 2-0 loss at Holy Cross on Saturday (Oct. 31). Daniel Shannon leads the team with four goals and five assists, followed by Mike Worden with four goals and one assist.

Following Tuesday's match, Virginia hosts No. 16 NC State in its regular-season finale. Kick-off on Saturday (Nov. 7) is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Klöckner Stadium.

Seedings and pairings for the 2009 ACC Men's Soccer Tournament will be announced on Monday, Nov. 9.
