CHARLOTTESVILLE – Cavalier women’s soccer junior midfielder Sinead Farrelly (Havertown, Pa.) was named first-team All-ACC for the third consecutive season as the conference announced its women’s soccer awards Tuesday.

Farrelly becomes the sixth player in Virginia women’s soccer history to be named first-team All-ACC three times, joining Tracey Kennedy (1987, 89-90), Amanda Cromwell (1988-91), Angela Hucles (1996-99), Lori Lindsey (1999-01) and Sarah Huffman (2003-05).

This year, Farrelly has set career-highs with seven goals and six assists. She is tied for the team lead in scoring with 20 points.

Defender Morgan Stith (Montclair, N.J.) was named to the ACC All-Freshman team. Stith has started all 18 games this season for the Cavaliers and leads all field players on the team with 1,603 minutes played.

The Cavaliers are the No. 7 seed in this week’s ACC Tournament, held at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. Virginia meets Boston College in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
