C.A.S.T. Roles
Academic Coordinator
- Academic Coordinators assist student-athletes in successfully transitioning from high school to college and reaching their academic potential. The Academic Coordinators develop individualized academic plans utilizing feedback from the student-athletes, instructors, tutors, and mentors in order to provide the highest quality of support to the student-athletes.
Learning Specialist
- The Learning Specialist works collaboratively with the Learning Needs and Evaluation Center (LNEC) on Grounds to assist the student-athletes who have documented learning difficulties. The Learning Specialist also meets with student-athletes who are experiencing academic difficulties and refers them to LNEC for comprehensive testing if necessary. The reports from the tutors and mentors help academic coordinators and the Learning Specialist pinpoint signs of learning difficulties that can lead to testing and possible accommodations.
Tutors
- Tutors teach student-athletes the study skills and strategies to help them master the content of specific courses. Tutors are responsible for engaging the student-athletes, assisting the student-athletes with non-honor coded assignments, providing insight that will allow the student-athletes to gain useful study skills and strategies, and communicating with the student-athlete's academic coordinator.
Study Hall Monitors
- Study Hall Monitors manage the study hall space and staff so that daily processes run smoothly.
