McArthur Squash Center at Boar's Head Sports Club

200 Wellington Drive

Charlottesville, Va. 22903.

The McArthur Squash Center opened in the fall of 2013 and is operated for the University of Virginia by the Boar's Head resort, which is a subsidiary of the University of Virginia Foundation. The 33,000 square-foot, $12.4 million complex offers eight ASB System 100 international singles courts, one ASB four-wall glass feature court and two ASB hardball doubles courts. At its center, the glass-walled international show court includes spectator seating and also an audio-visual recording system for live web streaming of tournaments.

McArthur Squash Center is the home of the Virginia men's and women's squash teams, who compete in the College Squash Association. The center serves as a gateway for the athletic development at the University, bringing top-level intercollegiate play, professional singles and doubles squash events and adult tournaments to Central Virginia.

The McArthur Squash Center was strategically built to attract new players to the sports and to draw the interest of top-level collegiate recruits. Its beauty alone peeks the interest of those who have little knowledge about the sport, while also providing opportunities to develop squash in the south.

UVA plans to expand the squash facility at Boar's Head with the addition of five singles courts, as well as study space, offices and locker rooms. The additions will bring the total number of courts to 14 singles and two doubles. Through expansion, UVA will gain opportunities to host big tournaments. Shortly after construction, the center will host the World Squash Federation World Masters Squash Championship in July 2018.

Through the Department of Intramural-Recreational Sports, the McArthur Squash Center at Boar's Head Sports Club is open to UVA faculty, staff and students. It is also open to members of Boar's Head Sports Club and guest of the Boar's Inn.
