The integration of YouTube will also provide increased distribution via Internet search, embedded video and set-top boxes such as Fire TV, Apple TV, ChromeCast and Roku.
Sept. 23, 2014 Charlottesville, Va. - VirginiaSportsTV.com has introduced a new integrated YouTube channel, providing full HD video, cross-platform compatibility and adjustable data rates based on connection speed. VirginiaSportsTV.com will remain the primary portal for on-demand video for Cavalier athletics. The integration of YouTube will also provide increased distribution via Internet search, embedded video and set-top boxes such as Fire TV, Apple TV, ChromeCast and Roku. The updated site will feature the entire archive of VirginiaSportsTV video in YouTube format.

"We're very excited about the improved user experience this move will provide to our fans," said Todd Goodale, Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs. "This was the clear next step in continuing to provide the best on-demand video in intercollegiate athletics. As more and more users are engaging with VirginiaSportsTV via mobile devices, we knew it was important to provide better mobile integration from the site, and we're also excited to now be able to showcase our 4K and HD video at its native resolution. Most importantly, it will now be easier than ever for Cavalier fans to find VirginiaSportsTV video, and we will be better equipped than ever to handle the site's demand after the next great Cavalier sports moment."

VirginiaSportsTV.com has generated more than 10 million views of over 3,750 videos since it launched on Sept. 3, 2004. The dedicated website for video coverage of each of UVa's 25 varsity sports provides Cavalier fans with free, on-demand exclusive all-access content, post-game highlights and reaction, and episodes of the "Chasing Uncompromised Excellence" television show.
