Director of Equipment Room Operations

Matt Althoff is in his eighth year as Virginia's Director of Equipment Room Operations and his 14th year of working in the equipment room. He is responsible for directing, planning, organizing and implementing the equipment room functions for the three different equipment rooms servicing UVa's student athletes.

Althoff worked for three years as an assistant football equipment manager at UVa from 1998-2000. During that time he assisted with Virginia's equipment operations at the 1998 Peach Bowl, 1999 Micronpc.com and the 2000 Jeep O'ahu Bowl.

The Virginia Beach, Va., native is a certified member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association. He served on the AEMA Board of Directors as the District II Director from 2005-09. Althoff and his wife, Sarah, reside in Charlottesville with their son, Connor.
