Roller-Coaster Ride Hasn't Fazed White

Shelley Croom Blakey, is in her 10th year as assistant athletic trainer for Virginia.

A Woodbridge, Va., native, Blakey works primarily with the cross country, track & field, and women's golf teams. She maintains department AEDs and serves on the UVa Coalition for Eating Disorders and Exercise Concerns. Blakey earned a bachelors of science in education with a concentration in sports medicine from UVa in 2000. She also earned her master of education in athletic training in 2003 from the University.

Prior to joining the University's Sports Medicine staff, Blakey spent three years as an athletic trainer with Spectrum Physical Therapy and Albemarle High School in Charlottesville.

Blakey's professional credentials include Certified Athletic Trainer, Certified CPR/AED Instructor for the American Red Cross, and Level I Certified USA Track and Field Coach.

Shelley and her husband, Lance, have two children, twins Landon and Olivia.
