Position:
Associate Athletics Director for Student Services

In August of 2015 Adrien Harraway was named associate athletics director for student services. In January of 2012, he was named associate athletics dirctor for academic affairs. He had previously served as the assistant athletics director for academic affairs for football at Virginia since November of 2010. Prior to that he was the director of academic affairs for football since June of 2007 and also served as an assistant director/academic coordinator of academic affairs for football since coming to Virginia in the summer of 2005.
        
Harraway is responsible for oversight and long-range planning for academic and Like Skills programming and services for student-athletes, hiring and training staff, evaluating the program and designing its content, developing and implementing policy, and developing and managing the budget.
        
Harraway came to Virginia after earning a master’s degree in higher education administration from Arizona State in 2005. While at Arizona State, he worked as a graduate assistant in the area of academic support with the football program from 2003-05.
        
He was an administrative intern for the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics from 2002-03. In that role he served as an assistant liaison for the International Collegiate Licensing Association, the National Association of Athletics Development Officers and the Division I-AA Athletics Directors Association.
        
Harraway earned his undergraduate degree in business administration from Northern Iowa in 2002. He played football at Northern Iowa and lettered three years as a safety.
