Jon Oliver is in his 12th year at Virginia. His primary responsibility is oversight of the day-to-day operations of the athletics department.
Oliver is the administrative liaison for football, men's basketball and men's tennis and he has senior staff administrative oversight responsibilities for Academic Affairs, Equipment Room Operations, Human Resources, Facilities and Game Operations, Lifeskills, Marketing and Promotions,
Sports Medicine, Sports Nutrition, Sports Psychology, Strength and Conditioning and Video Services. Oliver also serves as the Department's representative on all major facility projects.
Before coming to UVa, Oliver spent the previous six years involved in various aspects of athletic administration at Washington State University. Oliver ended his tenure at WSU as the associate athletics director for external affairs and prior to that served as the associate athletics director for finance and facilities development, the assistant athletics director for business and compliance and the director of compliance.
Oliver earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Boise State in 1994 and his law degree from the Idaho School of Law in 1997.
Oliver is a former member of the University of Idaho Law School Advisory Board and served on the NCAA's Minority Opportunities and
Interests Committee. He is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and the Black Coaches & Administrators (BCA).
He and his wife, November, have a son, Dante, and two daughters, Ariana and Mia.
