Assistant Football Performance Coach

Kevin Heiberger joined the Virginia football program as the assistant football performance coach in January of 2016. He assists with all facets of programming, teaches speed dynamics and helps develop all bio-motor abilities of the UVA student-athletes. He served in the same capacity at BYU in 2015.

Heiberger spent four years (2011-15) working as a performance coach at IMG Academy. He worked primarily as a speed and movement specialist for performance electives. Loren Seagrave, one of the top sprinting coaches in the world, mentored Heiberger. He assisted athletes with NFL combine preparation, NBA combine prep and also assisted with the Academy's boys and girls soccer and track and field programs.

Heiberger was an assistant athletic trainer at North Texas from 2010 to 2011. While there, he worked with Frank Wintrich, UVA's Director of Football Training and Player Development.

Heiberger graduated from Iowa in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in marketing. He received his master's degree in exercise science from Iowa State in 2009.
