Tutor Coordinator

Megan Maddox joined the Virginia academic affairs staff in 2016 as the tutor coordinator. She had previously worked for the UVA athletics compliance office as a graduate assistant. Maddox’s role requires her to recruit, hire, train, and supervise 70 tutors. She conducts numerous professional development training sessions for employees to gain more perspective in areas such as learning styles, study skills, and conflict-resolution. She works closely with academic coordinators to develop and implement a schedule of over 300 weekly tutoring sessions that meets the needs of all student-athletes. Maddox earned her undergraduate degree in media studies from Virginia in 2014. She completed her masters degree in higher education in 2016. She was a member of the UVA cheerleading squad from 2011 to 2015 and worked as student-athlete mentor in the life skills department for three years.
