Sarah Whitney joined the Virginia athletics department in the spring of 2014 as the assistant director of marketing. Prior to her current role, she served as an account executive for client services within Virginia Sports Properties. Whitney was responsible for overseeing the execution of corporate partnerships, planning special events, and developing meaningful promotional elements for corporate partners.

Prior to working at UVa, Whitney served as the director of fulfillment and group sales at VCU in its athletics department. She was responsible for the fulfillment of over one hundred corporate partners and implemented marketing and promotional programs for sponsors. Along with her responsibilities in corporate sales, Whitney served as a graduate assistant in marketing at VCU.

Whitney completed a master of business administration as well as a master of education in sport leadership at VCU in the spring of 2013. A former golfer at The College of William and Mary, Whitney majored in marketing and received a bachelor of business administration in 2011.
