This Week In UVa Athletics

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - UVa's spring sports are done. The final year record is 243-134-5 (64.3%).

OUTDOOR TRACK:
Coach: Fred Binggeli, 11th season at Virginia, 1-0 men. 1996-97 record, no dual meets. Last week, UVa (women) attended the NCAA Meet (52nd,tie,team). The season is now complete. Fred Binggeli is leaving the University (effective June 30) to take up a position in Missouri. No replacement has been announced.

MEN'S LACROSSE:
Post-Season honors went to three fourth-year Cavaliers (Tommy Smith, Doug Knight, and Michael Watson) who played in the annual USILA North-South All Star Classic at UMBC last weekend. The North defeated the South, 20-19 in overtime on Brendan Glass' (Massachusetts) fifth goal of the game. Knight (six goals, three assists), Watson (3+3), and Smith all played well for the South team.
