Arthur Murton Leaves UVa

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - University of Virginia Assistant Director of Athletics for Ticket Office Management Dick Mathias announced today that Arthur Murton, currently Vault Manager(Ticket Office), will leave the Athletic Department next week to accept a position as Assistant Athletic Ticket Manager/Systems Administrator at the University of Missouri(Columbia).

Murton is a 1987 graduate of Colby College who has been employed at Virginia since July, 1993. During his tenure at UVa, Murton has supervised the vault operations and been the principal ticket administrator for men's and women's soccer, women's basketball, and men's and women's lacrosse. He has also worked with the football and men's basketball operations.

Murton came to UVa from an Export/Import firm in Osaka, Japan. Murton and his wife Carina, along with son A.J.(4), will make the trip to Columbia next month.

At Missouri, Murton will be responsible for the various computer/ticket operations and be the principal Assistant Ticket Manager for the football and men's basketball programs.

In making the announcement in coordination with Missouri, Mathias said, "We will miss Arthur's quiet efficiency in all of our operations. He is taking a good job at a good school, and we are all pleased and proud for him."
