FOOTBALL: Coach: George Welsh, 17th season at Virginia, record: 105-69-3. 1997-98 record, 0-1. Last week, UVa played Auburn(28-17 loss). This week, UVa plays Richmond(Sat., Sept. 13, 3:30 PM, Scott Stadium).

MEN'S SOCCER: Coach: George Gelnovatch, second season at Virginia, record: 17-4-4. 1997-98 record, 1-1-1. Last week, UVa played in its own Coca Cola Classic(Akron 5-1 won, Florida International 1-1 tie). This week, UVa plays Central Connecticut St.(Wed., Sept. 10, 7:00 PM, Klckner Stadium) and Maryland(Sat., Sept. 13, 7:00 PM, away).

WOMEN'S SOCCER: Coach: April Heinrichs, second season at Virginia, record: 13-7-3. 1997-98 record, 1-0-1. Last week, UVa played George Mason(0-0 tie) and Penn State(5-2 won). This week, UVa plays Old Dominion today and in the adidas Tournament in Portland(OR)(Sat.-Sun., Sept. 13-14, 3:00-5:15 PM, away).

FIELD HOCKEY: Coach: Melissa Sanders, fifth season at Virginia, record: 54-32. 1997-98 record, 3-0. Last week, UVa played Ball St.(3-0 won). This week, UVa plays Northwestern(Sat., Sept. 13, 10:00 AM, Oxford, OH) and Miami(OH)(Sun., Sept. 14, 11:00 AM, away).
