Senior Account Executive

Scott Widener joined Virginia Sports Properties in 2011 as a senior account executive. He is responsible for client acquisition and revenue generation. He works to establish partnerships through on-site branding/awareness, media programming, hospitality and promotions/activations.

He joins the VSP staff after working most recently for Windstream Communications in Little Rock, Ark., an S&P 500 communications and technology company with operations in 29 states. He was a major account manager with a focus on sales of voice and data enterprise solutions and revenue growth.

Widener has more than 20 years of sales, marketing and management experience in locations such as Chicago, Las Vegas and Little Rock. He has worked in the telecom, home mortgage and payroll industries.

Widener is a Charlottesville native and lifelong supporter of UVa athletics. He earned his bachelor's degree from Randolph Macon where he also played lacrosse. He and his wife, Anne, have two sons - Mack and Stuart.
