WILMINGTON, N.C. – The No. 25 Virginia women’s golf remained in third place following the second round of play at the 2024 ACC Championships in Wilmington, N.C. The Cavaliers shot even par 288 during Friday’s play. UVA stands at 5-under 571 after 36 holes. Reigning champion Clemson continues to lead the 12-team field at 16-under 560 followed by Wake Forest at 563.

Following Saturday’s third round of stroke play, the top four teams will advance to the match play semifinals and finals on Sunday. The medalist will also be decided on Saturday. Clemson’s Isabella Rawl leads the field at 6-under 138. UVA’s Amanda Sambach is tied for fifth place at 4-under 140.

Sambach led UVA with a second-round score of 2-under 70 for the second consecutive round. Celeste Valinho is in 12th place at 1-under 143 after posting a score of even par 72 on Friday. Jaclyn LaHa, UVA’s first-round leader, dropped back into a tie for 27th place at 2-over 146 after posting a score of 77. She is tied with teammate Megan Propeck who shot 71 during the second round. Rebecca Skoler rounds out UVA scoring in 35th place at 4-over 148. She posted a second-round score of 75.

On Saturday UVA will be paired with Wake Forest and Clemson. Those teams tee off at 9:50 a.m. from the first tee. Live scoring is online at Golfstat.com.
