Making the Most of Your Virginia Basketball Experience

The Virginia men's and women's basketball teams host a combined 32 games at John Paul Jones Arena this season! Below you will find helpful information to prepare you for each game. Click here for John Paul Jones Arena facility information.

Doors open one and a half (1.5) hours prior to tipoff for all men's basketball home games and one (1) hour prior to all women's basketball home games. Please visit the Guest Services desk inside the main lobby of JPJ with any questions that might arise on game day.

Parking and Traffic Information

Men's Basketball Parking

Reserved lots at JPJ, McCue and University Hall open one and a half (1.5) hours before tipoff and must be vacated one (1) hour after the conclusion of the game.

Don't have a reserved parking pass? There are several options to choose from, including:

  • North Grounds and The Park Parking Lots - Free on a first-come, first-served basis as available. Shuttles run between the Park and John Paul Jones Arena starting one and a half (1.5) hours prior to tipoff.
  • Emmett/Ivy Garage - Cash parking on game day. A 10-minute walk to JPJ.
  • Central Grounds Garage - Hourly fees apply. A 15-minute walk to JPJ.

The JPJ West parking lot and garage are reserved for women's basketball season ticket holders. Free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis in the McCue, University Hall and Cage lots.

Concessions Information

There is a variety of food and beverages to choose from at John Paul Jones Arena from partners like Domino's Pizza, Ben & Jerry's, Two Guys Tacos, Pepsi and more.  Be sure to try the Virginia Burger or a customized hot dog at the 'Hoos on a Roll station, both outside section 305.  A variety of wraps and salads are available at the Good to Go stands outside sections 103, 113, 304 and 311.

Cavalier Team Shop merchandise stands at John Paul Jones Arena can be found in the concourse outside sections 103, 113, 306, and 310. Each  location features official Nike gear including jerseys, sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats and more.

When there's a UVA dunk at a men's home basketball game, be one of the first five hundred (500) fans to show your ticket at either Charlottesville-area Qdoba location and receive free chips and queso with the purchase of a signature entree!  Offer valid eight (8) days after any UVA home men's basketball game in which there is a UVA dunk.

Virginia home men's basketball home games are sold out for the 2016-17 season through season tickets. A limited number of single-game tickets may be available for each home game. For more information, click here.

Women's Basketball Family Packages are $11 per ticket and include a $8 concessions voucher (minimum of four packages purchased).  Family Packages are on sale for the following women's basketball games:
