Tryout Dates and Location 2013-14 Cheerleading Tryout Dates: Friday, April 12, 2013; 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013; 9:30 a.m.-noon, 1:30-4 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013; 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Location: John Paul Jones Arena, Women's Basketball Court (use the student entrance along Massie Road) *Clinic Fee: $20 cash or check made payable to UVA Cheerleading *GPA Tryout Requirement: 2.4 (current UVa students must bring proof of GPA to the first day of tryouts) Tryout Requirements: Appearance
WHAT TO WEAR:Cotton shorts(ladies), gym shorts(gentlemen), athletic t-shirts, sport tops, sports bras, white socks and tennis shoes are acceptable. Please be tasteful in your selections. Wearing other university/college logos is NOT recommended. We are asking that everyone wear orange, navy, gray or white.

SIDELINE Candidates will be asked to perform the sideline for the selection process. Material should be executed in a collegiate manner, Excessive facials, arm waving and wide motions are not encouraged. PARTNER STUNTS CO-ED TEAM:
ALL-GIRL:
** All-Girl stunting will be handled like a practice setting. Candidates will be placed in stunt groups by the coaching staff and evaluated the entire time. We will be looking for the ability to work with multiple people. Being as versatile as possible with stunting is highly recommended. You will be asked to work with more than one group. Tryouts Q & A Question: Can I bring my own partner for my personal try-out? Question: Will all stunts be spotted at the selection weekend even if I can do the stunt? Question: I am a flyer, can I try out for both the co-ed and all-girl teams? About Appearance... How important is appearance? Appearance will be considered at all times during the tryout. You should wear what makes you most comfortable. Those women trying out for the co-ed team also need to remember that you will wear uniforms that show your mid-section throughout the season.
Commitment: If you are selected for one of the two University of Virginia Cheerleading teams, you will be required to stay for a short meeting (approximately 30 minutes) after the teams are announced The teams will be announced by a posting showing those who make each team. The incoming students who are selected but have not been accepted to the University of Virginia will have until June 1 to be accepted. Coaches and athletic department staff do not have any influence on your acceptance to the University of Virginia. Summer 2013 commitments: TBD Typical Expenses:
