Dance Team

The Virginia Dance Team is comprised of 15 dancers with backgrounds in jazz, ballet, hip-hop, cheerleading, and even gymnastics. The team cheers and dances along the sidelines of all home football games and performs halftime routines at home men's basketball games. The majority of the routines the team performs are jazz and pom. Members of the team dedicate time to the community, making appearances at other University-sponsored activities and events in Charlottesville. The team also conducts summer camps throughout Virginia and hosts a dance clinic for high school dancers during the winter. The team proudly supports UVa athletics teams by bringing spirit and enthusiasm to games and special events.

Practices
The Virginia Dance Team practices between two and two-and-a-half hours three timtes a week. During the fall and spring semesters, the team also holds two mandatory team conditioning workouts each week. Additional practices are scheduled during the summer to prepare for football season. Members of the Virginia Dance Team may be involved in other organizations offered at the University as long as their committed to the Virginia Dance Team is not impacted.

Book Stipend
Members of the Virginia Dance receive a book stipend during the fall and spring semesters. The amount varies depending upon the number of years a student has been a member of the team. Scholarships are not offered to members of the Virginia Dance Team.

Learn great new skills and choreography from the Virginia Dance Team! In one of four day camps, members of the team will visit your school to help improved basic dance technique and teach various halftime routines of your choice, including: pom, kick, jazz, or hip-hop. Schedule your camp today!

Rates:

1 day: $60/participant
2 day: $125/participant
3 day: $150/participant
4 day: $185/participant
