Divers Perform Well at NCAA Zone B Championships

ATHENS, Ga. - Sophomore Katie Caratelli (Westlake, Ohio) placed 15th on the one-meter springboard and freshman Ashley Smith (Charlottesville, Va.) finished 29th, as the two divers competed in the first day of the 1998 NCAA Zone B Championships at the University of Georgia. Caratelli recorded a score of 371.40 in the finals, while Smith posted a 334.05. Heather Lawrence of Florida won the event with a total of 432.20.

Caratelli and Smith will compete in the three meter springboard finals on Saturday, (Mar. 14). The event is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Gabrielsen Natatorium.
