Junior Kylie Towbin (New Canaan, Conn.) led the Virginia men’s and women’s diving teams on the last day of the Frank Elm Invitational on Sunday (Nov. 19) at the Rutgers Aquatic Center in Piscataway, N.J. The junior finished first in the platform with a score of 270.05, setting a UVA record in the event.

“The women had a fabulous meet today,” head diving coach Jason Glorius said. “It was actually more like a practice for us because we haven’t been above 5-meters until today. Kylie (Towbin), Sydney (Dusel) and Jocelyn (Porter) scored personal bests. I am very happy for them and how they performed. Corey (Johnson) did well too. Kylie finally took down the platform school record. She had been close a couple of times. I am so happy for her. Overall, I’m very pleased with the weekend, and the work we got in and how we performed.”

Sophomore Sydney Dusel (Naperville, Ill.) and freshman Jocelyn Porter (Cornelius, N.C.) finished in the top five of the platform. Dusel recorded a score of 245.20 for third place, while Porter recorded a score of 233.60 for fourth place.

Senior Corey Johnson (Ambler, Pa.) finished sixth in the event with a score of 182.65.

Next, the Cavaliers will compete at the UGA Fall Invite in Athens, Ga. The three-day meet will begin on December 1.
