The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams, as announced by the organization on Monday (Jan. 29).

The women’s team recorded the honor with a 3.27 grade point average, while the men’s team recorded a 3.09 grade point average for the 2017 fall semester.

Overall, 688 teams earned the distinction from the CSCAA, with 85 percent of programs in the top 25, across all divisions, capturing the accolade. Additionally, Virginia was one of nine schools within the ACC to have both its men’s and women’s programs named to the scholar All-America teams.

To earn the honor, programs were required to post a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the fall semester.

Virginia will return to action for the Women’s ACC Championships on February 14 in Greensboro, N.C. The men’s team will compete at the conference championships beginning February 21.
