The Cavaliers went 5-2 in dual meets this season, including a 4-1 mark in ACC competition with wins over Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Duke and North Carolina.

Virginia finished sixth at the 2016 ACC Championships. Sophomore Sam Magnan (Bethlehem, Pa.) finished third in the 1,650-yard freestyle a year ago, while sophomore Zach Fong (Moorestown, N.J.) finished fourth in the 200-yard fly. Virginia also finished third in the 800-yard freestyle relay last season.

The meet will also signify the men's swimming and diving matchup between Virginia and Virginia Tech in the Commonwealth Clash, sponsored by Virginia529, the official college savings plan of University of Virginia Athletics. There is one point at stake in the Virginia529 Commonwealth Clash, the point rivalry series between UVA and Virginia Tech. The school that finishes higher in the meet will receive a point in the competition. Learn more about Virginia529 and this competition at thecommonwealthclash.com.
