CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Virginia track and field team will remain in state this weekend for two meets. The Cavaliers will split up, heading to Lynchburg for the Liberty Invitational and to Williamsburg for the Colonial Relays. Events at Liberty are set to take place Friday and Saturday, April 1-2, while the Cavaliers will only compete in Williamsburg on Friday.

So far this season, five Cavaliers are ranked in the top-50 nationally in their respective events from their performances at last weekend's Raleigh Relays.

Redshirt junior Andy Fahringer leads the way, as he currently sits fourth nationally and first in the ACC in the javelin. His winning throw was a personal-best of 239' 7" and moved him into second on Virginia's all-time program records. He trails only Brian Kollar's school and conference record of 243' 6" from 2001.

Senior Greg Nelson is ranked 20th in the NCAA in the high jump - and tied for fourth in the ACC - as he matched a personal-best mark 6' 10.75". On the women's side, sophomore Pearl Bickersteth is 38th nationally and fourth in the conference, clearing 5' 7".

In the discus, junior Erin Wykoff is ranked third in the league and 44th nationally with a throw of 157' 8". Sophomore Dallas Rose rounds out the Cavaliers ranked in the top-50 nationally, as she currently sits 46th with a leap of 39' 8.5" in the triple jump. That mark places her fifth in the ACC.

Following the weekend, the Cavaliers will head to Athens, Ga., for the Spec Towns Invitational. The event is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 8-9.
