Ehsan Haddadi is in his second season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Virginia track and field program. The Olympic sliver medalist and two-time Olympian will work with the Cavalier throwers.

A native of Iran, Haddadi won the silver medal in the discus at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. It was Iran's first Olympic medal in track and field, and the first in a sport other than taekwondo, weightlifting or wrestling. He also competed at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

A four-time Asian Championships gold medalist in the event (2005, 2007, 2009, 2011), he holds the Asian record in the discus with a throw of 69.32 meters. In 2011, he became the first Iranian athlete to win a medal at the IAAF World Championships, earning bronze in the discus.
