“It was the opener for a lot of our men, but those that had a competition under their belt this season made some nice progress,” UVA director of track and field/cross country Bryan Fetzer said. “We had some nice breakthroughs today by several men. We have a ways to go, but we are headed in the right direction. The only collegiate championships that is handed out in January is in college football, we need to keep that in mind.”
Next up, the Cavaliers travel to Boston for a pair of meets. UVA will compete at the Crimson Elite Meet hosted by Harvard on Feb. 3 and the Scarlett & White Meet hosted by Boston University on Feb. 4.
