Clemson, S.C. - The triple jump tandem of junior Kelly McKee (Lenexa, Kan.) and junior Mia Barron (Minnetonka, Minn.) turned in top-four finishes to lead Virginia during the final day of competition at the 2018 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Virginia placed ninth with 34.5 points. Florida State took the team title with 91 points.

McKee was the runner-up in the triple jump with a best mark of 42'1"1/2 while Barron was fourth at 41'8". McKee picked up first-team All-ACC honors while Barron received second-team all-conference accolades.

Freshman Brittany Jones (Bloomfield, Conn.) was fifth in the shot put with a personal best throw of 49'11" to earn second-team All-ACC honors. Her throw ranks as the seventh best in UVA history and ranks as the second-best performance by a UVA freshman.

Sophomore Anna Jefferson (Warren, Mich.) had a seventh-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 53.88.

"We had some individual performances that were championship level and several others that showed improvement," said Virginia head coach Bryan Fetzer. "However, this is a team competition. It takes more than a few to contend for a championship. Outdoors starts Monday. Time to turn the page and get ready for the next chapter."

The ACC Championships served as the men's and women's matchup between Virginia and Virginia Tech in the Commonwealth Clash. The Commonwealth Clash presented by Virginia529 is a head-to-head, points-based competition between the athletic teams at University of Virginia and Virginia Tech. The Hokies claimed the point at stake during the event.

The Commonwealth Clash encourages a friendly, statewide rivalry between the two schools across all school-sponsored sports with 21 individual event points on the line. The school that accumulates 11 points or more will be crowned the winner and take home the Virginia529 Commonwealth Clash trophy. Visit for more information and updated standings.
