Redshirt freshman Jack Lint (Westerville, Ohio) was in second place after the 60 hurdles (fifth event), but had to withdraw due to an injury.

“We did not do as well as we had hoped today,” UVA director of track and field/cross country Bryan Fetzer said. “However, it is a wide-open race in the team standings, so we have to shake it off and take advantage of the opportunities we have tomorrow.”

The Cavaliers sit in a tie for seventh place with 18 points. Syracuse leads with 32, followed by NC State (28) and Miami (25).

The meet concludes Saturday (Feb. 27) with action set to begin at 11 a.m. ESPN3 will have a live broadcast from 1-4 p.m.
