CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-- A trio of all-time top-10 marks in school history highlighted the UVA women's track and field final day at the Virginia Challenge at Lannigan Field Saturday (April 23)

In the long jump invite, redshirt freshman Mia Barron (Minnetoka, Minn.) placed fifth with a mark of 6.22m (20' 5"), which ranks eighth on UVA's all-time list and third on the freshman list.

In the 5,000 meters, junior Cleo Boyd (Kingston, Ontario) placed sixth in a time of 16:09.23, which ranks fifth on UVA's all-time list.

"Mia and Cleo had some major breakthroughs today," Director of track and field/cross country Bryan Fetzer said. "Both have been really putting in the bank without much payoff, but today they got to cash it in."

Junior Christine Bohan (Avon Lake, Ohio) placed second in the javelin with a throw of 42.65m (139' 11").

Graduate student Aisha Naibe-Wey (London, England) finished eighth in the 400m hurdles in 59.45, which ranks eighth on UVA's all-time list.

In the women's pole vault invite, sophomore Bridget Guy (Greensburg, Pa.) finished fourth with a height of 4.10m (13' 5.25").

Freshman Carly Feyerabend (Mechanicsville, Va.) placed in a tie for third in the high jump with a height of 1.66m (5' 5.25").

In the discus invite, sophomore Carter Green (Ashland, Pa.) threw a mark of 46.03m (151' 0") to finish eighth.

"We have three more weeks until ACCs and this weekend was one of learning and improvement for the entire group," Fetzer said.

Over the entire weekend, 13 Virginia Challenge records and 10 Lannigan Field records were either tied or broken between the men's and women's sides.

"It is amazing how the Virginia Challenge continues to develop," Fetzer said. "The performances this weekend were impressive overall and those that came to watch truly saw a show."

The Cavaliers return to action next weekend for the Highlander Invitational April 29-30 in Radford, Va.
