Plesko Captures Two Silver Medals in Slovenian Championships

CELJE, Slovenia– Virginia junior Nace Plesko (Ljubljana,Slovenia) earned two second-place finishes at the Slovenian Track and Field National Championships in Celje, Slovenia over the weekend (July 22-23).

Plesko earned two silver medals at the national championships, finishing second in the discus and the shot put. His discus performance of 54.85m set a U23 Slovenian National record.

In the shot put, Plesko recorded a mark of 15.81m.

“What a way to end a very productive first year at UVA,” head coach Bryan Fetzer said. “He has made a lot adjustments over the year, which can be frustrating, but to end in this way is amazing.”
