Sarah DeVita

Jan. 5, 2015

1. Satchell Leads Elite Triple Jumpers - All-American and reigning ACC Champion triple-jumper Ryan Satchell leads one of the top horizontal jumps groups in the nation. After finishing seventh at last year's NCAA Outdoor Championships, Satchell returns as do two talented sophomores. Aaron Worrell returns after missing most of the outdoor season due to injury, but set the UVa indoor freshman triple-jump record last year while finishing second at the ACC Indoor Championships. Fellow sophomore Chris Rogers scored in the triple jump in both the indoor and outdoor ACC Championships during his rookie season.

2. Wealth of Pole Vaulters - Two years removed from not having a women's pole vaulter on the roster, the event is now a place of depth for the Cavaliers. Sarah DeVita, who took up the event last year, returns after becoming the third pole vaulter in school outdoor history to reach the 12-foot mark last spring. She is joined by a talented group of first-years that includes high school state champions Bridget Guy and Kate Kaufman.

3. Cronin in the High Jump - The Cavaliers have one high jumper this season, Moira Cronin. One of four Cavalier women in history to reach the six-foot mark, she will redshirt during the indoor season before competing outdoors.
