Mihaljevic Named ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C.—Virginia redshirt junior Filip Mihaljevic was named the ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday (Jan. 31).

Mihaljevic (Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina), the reigning outdoor NCAA shot put champion, opened his 2017 campaign at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational in Lynchburg, Va., finishing second (and first among collegiate student-athletes) with a throw of 19.47m (63-10.5). The throw by Mihaljevic ranks fourth in the nation and first in the ACC.

It is the seventh career ACC weekly award for Mihaljevic.
