Final Results

Notre Dame, Ind. – The Virginia women’s track and field team finished 10th at the 2017 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships at Notre Dame as five Cavaliers turned in scoring performances during the final day of competition.

Redshirt sophomore Mia Barron (Minnetonka, Minn.) was the top finisher for UVA on Saturday, placing third in the triple jump with a mark of 12.71 meters. That was a personal best mark for the redshirt sophomore and goes in the record books as the sixth best in UVA history.

Sophomore Kelly McKee (Lenexa, Kan.) was fifth in the event with a distance of 12.57 meters, improving on her personal best and becoming the eighth best performance at UVA.

Senior Christine Bohan (Avon Lake, Ohio) finished forth in the shot put with a throw of 16.29 meters.

Freshman Emma Call (Richmond, Va.) placed fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:07.46 and senior Cleo Boyd (Kingston, Ontario, Canada) was eighth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:30.48.

“I am very proud of how we competed,” said UVA head coach Bryan Fetzer. “We had some individuals take the next step in their progression. Our women's team is built for more success in the outdoor season than the indoors for multiple reasons. We're excited to turn the page and start the next chapter by getting ready for the ACC Outdoor Championships in Atlanta.”

Miami repeated as team champions, scoring 113 points. Clemson was second at 98 points and Florida State was third with 74 points.

The meet also signified the women’s track and field matchups between Virginia and Virginia Tech in the Commonwealth Clash, sponsored by Virginia529, the official college savings plan of University of Virginia Athletics. By virtue of finishing ahead of UVA, the Hokies (eighth place) earned a point in the Virginia529 Commonwealth Clash. The score for the Clash is now University of Virginia 5 and Virginia Tech 7.
