CHARLOTTESVILLE - The Virginia men's and women's track & field teams will open the outdoor season Saturday as they host the Virginia Cup at Lannigan Field. The Cavaliers will take on four in-state foes, James Madison, Liberty, Norfolk State and Radford, in the team-scored meet.

The meet begins at 11 a.m. with the start of field events. The running events begin at 2:15 p.m. Admission to the meet is free and live results will be available at

In action for the Cavaliers will be five athletes who earned All-ACC honors during the indoor season. ACC Champions Filip Mihaljevic (Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Jordan Young (Windsor, Ontario), who both competed last week at NCAA Indoor Championships, will be competing for the men, as will All-ACC performer Kyle King (Yorktown, Va.). On the women's side, Jordan Lavender (Nashville, Tenn.) and Christine Bohan (Avon Lake, Ohio) will make their outdoor season debuts.

Virginia will return to action next week with athletes competing at the Fred Hardy Invitational, which runs March 27-28 in Richmond, Va.
