CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The No. 3 Virginia men’s track and field team and the Cavalier women are set to host a pair of meets at Lannigan Field this weekend. The Cavaliers will host the UVA Quad on Friday (April 8) at 4 p.m. and the Lou Onesty/Milton G. Abramson Invitational on Saturday (April 9) at 2 p.m.

Both meets will have live results available on Admission to Virginia home track and field meets is free to the public. On Friday, Domino's pizza and t-shirts will be given out to the first 100 students on the hill at 5 p.m.

Virginia’s men are ranked No. 3 in the latest FloTrack national poll and No. 6 in the most recent USTFCCCA national rankings.

Friday’s meet will be contested under dual-meet scoring with Columbia, Maryland, Penn and the host Cavaliers competing.

The meet will see the outdoor season debut of junior Filip Mihaljevic (Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina), who was the NCAA runner-up in the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Championships and earned bronze in the same event at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in March.

The Cavaliers have four student-athletes currently in the overall NCAA top-20 rankings, including junior Henry Wynne (Westport, Conn.) holding the top spot in the men’s 1,500 meters. Freshman Hilmar Jonsson (Reykjavik, Iceland) is fifth in men’s hammer throw, junior Christine Bohan (Avon Lake, Ohio) is 15th in the women’s shot put, while redshirt-freshman Oghenakpobo Efekoro (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is 20th in the men’s shot put.

Next up, the Cavaliers will host the Virginia Challenge April 22-23 at Lannigan Field.
