CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Taking advantage of perfect fall weather, a drastic change from this year’s earlier race at Panorama Farms, the Virginia cross-country team participated in their second home race of the season on Friday afternoon. First-year Anna Corrigan (Burke, Va.) led four Cavaliers in the top seven, finishing third in 18:55.68.

Four Cavaliers followed Corrigan across the line, led by fourth-year Sara Casscells (Wilmington, Del.), who was fourth in 19:03.02. Third-year Megan Durkee (West Chester, Pa.) took fifth with a time of 19:10.72, third-year Erin Klein (Burke, Va.) crossed in sixth in 19:20.20 and first-year Laurel MacMillan (Blacksburg, Va.) rounded out the Cavaliers in seventh, with a time of 19:29.36.

William & Mary runners dominated the men’s race, taking four of the top six spots.  The Tribe’s Tom Burke placed first with a time of 24:52.30, while his teammate Skeeter Morris came in second less than a minute later, in 25:38.31.

Third-year Trey Miller (Winston-Salem, N.C.), who won the Lou Onesty race back in September, was the first Virginia runner to cross the line, placing 16th with a time of 27:09.63. Second-year Andrew Lobb (West Chester, Pa.) and first-year Lance Roller (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) crossed the line together in 29:25.95 and 29:25.95, respectively, while third-year Alex Bowman (Richmond, Va.), finished within a minute of the duo, in 29:51.29. First-year Steve Franks (Lansdale, Pa.) crossed in 31:10.18.

The Cavalier’s next challenge, the NCAA Regional Championships, is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15, in Winston-Salem, N.C.
