Will Gray Qualifies for European U-23 Cross Country Championships

LIVERPOOL, England - Recent Virginia track and field and cross country signee Will Gray qualified for the Great Britain U-23 Cross Country Team after a strong performance in the qualifying meet last week at Sexton Park in Liverpool. Gray is one of six athletes who will represent Great Britain at the meet, which will be held Dec. 14 in Samokov, Bulgaria.

Gray made the squad with a time of 30:11 during the qualifying meet. Also competing at the meet was current graduate student Iona Lake (Norwich, England), who finished the women's race in 28:55 to earn alternate status on the U-23 squad.

Gray, who currently competes at the University of Birmingham, signed with the Cavaliers last month and will join the program next fall.
