Volunteer Assistant

Luis Giraldo is in his first season as an assistant coach at Virginia. He joins the UVa coaching staff having a familiar background of the Cavaliers program.

Prior to graduating from UVa in 2000, Giraldo was a member of the Virginia baseball program from 1997-2000. He finished his four-year career as a Cavalier having started 108 of the 138 games he appeared in. Giraldo ended his Virginia baseball career with 118 hits (29 doubles, 11 homeruns and five triples). He finished tied for third all-time at Virginia with 18 doubles in a season (2000) and ended his career fourth all-time at UVa after being hit by 18 pitches. Giraldo recorded 94 runs, 70 RBI and was 16-20 in stolen base attempts during his career. He demonstrated a strong leadership role as a player, as he was named one of the team's co-captains during the 2000 season.

Giraldo is single and lives in Charlottesville.
