Feb. 7, 2013
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Twelve Virginia Baseball games will be broadcast this year on television or online via ESPN3 as part of the conference's 2013 broadcast schedule which was announced Thursday by the ACC office. Virginia's contests at home against NC State (March 25) and at Wake Forest (April 8) each will be televised nationally on ESPNU as part of the network's ACC Monday package.
Both of the conference series that include ACC Monday games now will take place Saturday through Monday rather than the typical Friday through Sunday format. UVa now will play host to NC State from March 23-25 and compete at Wake Forest from April 6-8.
As a result of the third game of the NC State series shifting to March 25, the non-conference matchup against Towson at Davenport Field, originally scheduled for March 26, has been moved back one day to Wednesday, March 27, at 5 p.m.
Virginia also will have a pair of games broadcast on the ACC's Regional Sports Networks, one on Comcast Sports Southeast and seven that will air exclusively via ESPN3 webcasts. The March 30 game against Miami and the April 13 tilt at Georgia Tech each will air on RSN, while the April 14 contest against the Yellow Jackets will be televised by CSS. All three games of the Clemson series (March 15-17), the Friday game at Georgia Tech (April 12) and the entire series at North Carolina (May 16-18) will air online through ESPN3.
In all, 10 of the Cavaliers' 15 ACC road games will be available on television or via ESPN3, including the complete series at Clemson, Georgia Tech and North Carolina.
The VirginiaSports.com video streaming schedule will be released in the coming days.
Virginia opens its season Feb. 15 with a three-game series at East Carolina. The home opener is slated for Feb. 19 versus William and Mary.
