CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The fourth-ranked Virginia baseball team continues its busy month on the road this weekend as it travels to No. 17 Georgia Tech for a three-game series at Russ Chandler Stadium in Atlanta. The series starts at 7 p.m. Friday and will be followed by 1 p.m. contests Saturday and Sunday.
Video broadcasts will be available for all three games on ESPN3.
The Saturday game will be broadcast on the ACC's Regional Sports Networks (CSN Mid-Atlantic in the Charlottesville area) - RSN Affiliates for Saturday. The Sunday contest will be televised by CSS, with CSN Mid-Atlantic and Baltimore each picking up the broadcast.
WINA 1070-AM will have the live radio broadcast of the Saturday and Sunday games in the Charlottesville area. Audio for all three games also will be available through a Cavaliers Live subscription on VirginiaSports.com.
Select stations across the Virginia Sports Radio Network will air the UVa Baseball "Game of the Week" each Saturday. The following stations will carry UVA baseball this spring:

Virginia-Georgia Tech Series
Georgia Tech owns a 66-44-2 series edge over Virginia, although UVa is 17-11-1 against the Yellow Jackets since the current coaching staff took over in 2004. Virginia has won three straight series against Georgia Tech after taking two of three last year in Atlanta. GT defeated the Cavaliers, 17-5, in the ACC tournament last year.
Recent games have been extremely tight - 23 of the 29 games since 2004 have been decided by three runs or fewer (12 by one run or a tie).
Noting the Yellow Jackets
Georgia Tech is 24-9 (9-6 ACC) following a 7-5 win at Georgia on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets boast the ACC's top offense this year with a .326 team batting average. After missing several games with mononucleosis, Brandon Thomas returned to the team's lineup Tuesday; he leads the team with a .439 batting average. Zane Evans owns a team-high 10 home runs and is one of five Georgia Tech regulars who hit .347 or better.
The Yellow Jackets also own a 3.68 team ERA (seventh in ACC) and a league-best .977 fielding percentage.
After playing 23 of its first 28 games at Davenport Field, Virginia is playing 11 of its 19 games in the month of April on the road. UVa has won its first four April road games - all by two runs or fewer. UVa will play three of its four April ACC series on the road (Wake Forest, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech).
UVa's lone home ACC series in the month is April 19-21 against Florida State. The Cavaliers are 8-1 on the road in 2013, including series wins at East Carolina, Clemson and Wake Forest.
Tough Schedule Ahead
Virginia's looming ACC schedule is daunting, with four of the remaining five opponents currently holding .500-plus conference records. UVa has series remaining with each of the division leaders - Florida State (10-5) and North Carolina (12-2). The Cavaliers also travel to Georgia Tech (9-6) and Virginia Tech (7-8) and play host to Duke (8-7).
Virginia has been strong in the late innings, outscoring its foes 107-28 from the seventh inning on this year. UVa owns a pair of ninth-inning rallies from three runs or more down (5-2 in ninth at Clemson, won 6-5 in 11; 6-2 at Wake, won 7-6) and nearly came from five runs down in the ninth on Wednesday before falling by a run to Radford.
On the Horizon
UVa returns home for four games next week, battling Old Dominion (April 17) before taking on No. 6 Florida State in a three-game series (April 19-21).
