The Virginia baseball team will make its debut in the College World Series at 7 p.m. ET Saturday against LSU at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Neb. The game will be televised on ESPN.
The College World Series features an initial round of double-elimination play within two pools of four teams each. The winners of each pool advance to play in the best-of-three championship finals beginning June 22.
Virginia (48-13-1) and LSU (51-16), the No. 3 national seed, will compete in Bracket A along with Arkansas (39-22) and Cal State Fullerton (47-14), the No. 2 national seed. The teams will play a double-elimination format, and the winner of the bracket will face the champion of Bracket B.
Bracket B consists of No. 1 national seed Texas (46-14-1), No. 4 seed North Carolina (47-16), No. 5 seed Arizona State (47-12) and Southern Miss (39-24).
