Inaugural Baseball Hall of Fame Class to be Unveiled Thursday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The inaugural Virginia Baseball Hall of Fame class will be revealed on Thursday, Dec. 7. The 15-member class will be officially inducted at the 16th Annual Step Up to the Plate event on January 27, 2018.

"I think the selection committee did an outstanding job recognizing UVA greats from all eras in this first class," said head coach Brian O'Connor. "It's going to be a real treat for our fans to get a chance to be part of the induction ceremony in January."

In no set order, the inaugural class will be announced on Virginia Baseball's social media outlets, Twitter (@uvabaseball), Facebook ( and Instagram (@uvabaseball) every hour beginning at 10 a.m. The announcement of the full class will conclude at 3 p.m. with a press release on

As a programming addition to this year's Step Up to the Plate event, fans and supporters can witness the inaugural induction ceremony as well as interact with inductees. Tickets for the event are on sale now and may be ordered in person at the UVA Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall, by phone at 1-800-542-8821 or online at Sponsored tables may be reserved by calling the Virginia Athletics Foundation at 800-626-8723. Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets early as the event is expected to sell out.
