Virginia's Norman Nolan Honored by ACC

Norman Nolan is the ACC Player of The Week.

Charlottesville, VA - University of Virginia forward Norman Nolan was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week for his performances during Virginia's three games last week.

Nolan (6-8, 253), a senior from Baltimore Md., scored 61 points and collected 38 rebounds as Virginia opened the season with a double overtime loss to Richmond, and then rebounded with two home victories over William & Mary and George Mason.

Nolan has recorded a double-double in all three games this season. He is averaging 20.3 points, 12.7 rebounds and has connected on 56.5 percent of his shots from the field.

In Virginia's 83-79 double overtime loss at Richmond (Nov. 16), Nolan scored a career-high 31 points and gathered 11 rebounds in the loss. In the Cavaliers' 59-45 win over William & Mary (Nov.19), he scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. In UVa's 60-45 victory over George Mason (Nov. 22), Nolan scored 13 points and collected a career-high 16 rebounds.

Robert O'Kelley of Wake Forest was named ACC Rookie of the Week.
