Dave Leitao

"I told our guys, I'm not sure if I have ever seen a game like that before. Our team showed tremendous resiliency throughout the game. I told them when we got to a timeout at 52-41, 'we're down 11, but it seems like 40.' It didn't look like we had the kind of energy it was going to take to come back and win the ballgame."

"That was a tremendous, gutty effort. We had our share of turnovers, but none of them really broke us. When you get into a situation where they turn you over three or four or five times, that can really bring you down."

"Three of our first road games have been against the upper echelon teams. We played North Carolina, Boston College, and now this game. The one thing that we have done well is not try to make up for what happened in past road games."

"I don't know that I have ever remember a team scoring the last 15 points of the game."

"We are a good three-point shooting team. We lead the league in makes from behind the line, but had only two in the first half. We weren't able to get any of the threes in rhythm."

"We wanted to crowd Mays when he faces the basket. We wanted to make sure that he saw more bodies to make him a little uncomfortable."

Oliver Purnell

"Rebounding continues to plague us. We didn't do a better job guarding the backcourt. We gave too many opportunities which were exemplified by the last play. We gave up two rebounds and we needed one of them. With a 16 point lead you can't let up on the defensive end. I think we came out flat in the first half but picked it up in the second half. But playing one of the most explosive teams in the ACC caught up to us."

- On the offensive production late in the game:
"We got some shots but got fouled and we had some looks but didn't finish. We had a couple turnovers that hurt as well. When the lid goes on the basket you have to stop them."

- On milking the clock with the lead:
"We needed to make free throws. We got some open looks and lay-ups. It seemed like the right thing to do and I think that was when we were playing our best basketball. It all goes back to playing defense and getting on the glass."

- On the attitude of the team:
"We have to get it back together. We're fortunate to have one week off to do so. This one will hurt but we have to rejuvenate and fight on."
