The Cavaliers are now 13-1 at the John Paul Jones Arena.
UVa leads the all-time series with Longwood, which stands at 2-0.
After starting the same lineup the past 10 games, the Cavaliers made a change to their starting five. Tunji Soroye replaced Laurynas Mikalauskas in tonight's starting lineup. Mamadi Diane, Jason Cain, Sean Singletary and J.R. Reynolds also started tonight's game. This is Soroye's third start of the year.
Longwood's first made field goal of the game came with 13:32 remaining in the first half. The Lancers missed their first 11 field goal attempts.
Tonight's 53 first half points for the Cavaliers are the second most first half points the team has scored this year. The team scored 60 points in the first half against Gonzaga (Jan. 3).
