Virginia Fall to No. 23 Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. - Greg Buckner scored 19 points and Tony Christie added 17, including 14 in the first half, as 23rd-ranked Clemson raced to a 14-point lead and defeated Virginia, 69-52, in an Atlantic Coast Conference game.

Harold Jamison pulled down seven rebounds and Terrell McIntyre handed out seven assists for Clemson (12-6, 3-3 ACC), which picked up just its second win in five games.

The win for the Tigers moves them into fourth place in the ACC, breaking a four-way tie with Georgia Tech, Maryland and Virginia.

Colin Ducharme had 16 points and six rebounds and Curtis Staples chipped in 14 points for the Cavaliers (10-9, 2-4), who lost for the fourth time in six games. Norman Nolan, who added 10 points, failed to lead the team in scoring for the first time in 10 games.
