Men's Basketball Ticket Packages on Sale Friday

CHARLOTTESVILLE A variety of Virginia men's basketball ticket options go on sale Friday, Oct. 17, at 5 p.m., exclusively at VirginiaSports.com. Two mini-ticket packages will be offered this year. The Power 5 is comprised of five prime games at the John Paul Jones Arena, while the Weekends at JPJ package consists of five games played on Saturdays or Sundays during the season.

The Power 5 includes the Cavaliers' games against Xavier, North Carolina, Boston College, Virginia Tech, and Miami and costs $160.

The Weekends at JPJ package is available for $145. The package includes UVa's home games with Auburn, Florida State, Clemson, Wake Forest, and Maryland.

A new offering for the 2008-09 season is Family Nights. For any Family Night game, fans will be able to purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, four 22-ounce sodas, and four popcorns for $48. Additional tickets may be added at $12 each. The Family Night offer is available for the Radford, Liberty, Auburn, and Hampton games.

Single game tickets for all of Virginia's non-conference home games also go on sale Friday, Oct. 17, at 5 p.m. at VirginiaSports.com. Single game tickets for the Atlantic Coast Conference home men’s basketball games will go on sale, if available, at a later date.

Tickets also remain on sale for Virginia’s Nov. 9 exhibition game with Shepherd University (W.Va.). The game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena. The exhibition game with Shepherd is not part of the season ticket package.

Tickets for the complete 17-game Virginia home schedule are available with the purchase of a season ticket. Season ticket holders may also take advantage of benefits such as ticket resale access through Virginia’s Ticket Marketplace and electronic ticket transfer and ticket return opportunities.

Mini-ticket package sales, Family Nights and the sale of single-game home non-conference tickets begin at VirginiaSports.com on Friday, Oct. 17, at 5 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling the UVa athletics ticket office at 1-800-542-8821 or 434/924-8821 weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Fans can order in person by visiting the athletics ticket office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Telephone and ticket window sales for mini-ticket packages, Family Nights, and available single-game tickets begin Monday, Oct. 20, at 9 a.m.
