AT VIRGINIA: 2000-Excelled in his first year as the team?'s punter ... averaged 42.6 yards per punt ... only 17 of 65 punts were returned ?... also forced 14 fair catches and planted 15 punts inside the opponent?'s 20 ?... boomed 18 punts of at least 50 yards, including a career-best 70-yarder against Brigham Young on the third punt of his career ?... his 18 punts of 50+-yards are the most by a Cavalier since Russ Henderson?'s 18 in 1978 ?... had at least one 50-yard punt in every game except one ?... averaged 46.2 yards per punt in his first game against BYU in the season opener ?... buried three punts inside the 20-yard line against Clemson ?... punted five times against Wake Forest, finishing with a 45.8-yard average and boomed three punts over 50 yards ?... four punts for a 45.2-yard average against Maryland the following week ?... had perhaps his best performance against Florida State ?... averaged 48.3 yards on six punts and consistently put the Seminoles deep in their territory to start each drive ?... drilled three punts of over 50 yards (53, 55 and 61) ... dropped three punts inside the 10-yard line, another inside the 20 and a fifth on the 20 ?... his 48.3 average in that game is the best by a UVa punter with at least five punts since 1986 ?... had another stellar performance in the win over North Carolina by averaging 44.4 yards on seven punts ?... booted two punts of at least 50 yards, including a 58-yarder and dropped two inside the 20-yard line and had a third stop on the 20 ?... his ability to punt high and long resulted in four fair catches by UNC returners and limited Bosley Allen, who came into the game averaging 13.1 yards per return, to just one return for one yard ?... averaged 46.7 yards on six punts in the loss to Georgia Tech ... drilled two punts of over 50 yards (53 and 56) against the Yellow Jackets ... he also showed presence of mind to avoid having one attempt blocked by faking the on-coming rusher and running 21 yards for a first down from deep in his own territory ?... that play earned him ?"Play of the Day?" recognition from CNN ?... he also did a good job of preventing returns by a squad that averaged more than 10 yards per return coming into the game ... the Yellow Jackets returned just two punts for a total of nine yards (4.5/return) ... had his lowest average of the season (34.2) against N.C. State, but managed to place two punts inside the Wolfpack 20 and allowed dangerous return man Koren Robinson, the ACC?'s leading punt returner, to return just one punt for minus one yard ... averaged 44.8 yards on five punts, including a long of 63 yards, in the Jeep O?'ahu Bowl ... earned his second letter. 1999-Saw most of his action on the kickoff return team ?...was the backup punter behind Donnie Scott ... also practiced at tight end ... played in 10 regular season games, missing only the season opener against North Carolina, and the Bowl ?... returned a kickoff three yards against Clemson in the first appearance of his career ... lettered for the first time. 1998-Backup punter behind Donnie Scott ... was in uniform for every regular season game and against Georgia in the Peach Bowl but did not see any game action. 1997-Red-shirted ... in uniform but did not play against Richmond, Clemson and N.C. State.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned four letters in football at Aiken High School for head coach Carey Johnson ... three-time All-State punter by The Associated Press ... named to the South Carolina Sports Report ?"Top 100?" list ... Greenville News?' All-State punter as a senior in 1996 ... twice chosen All-Region as a punter and at tight end ... chosen All-Area as a punter his sophomore, junior and senior seasons ... participated in the North-South High School All-Star Game as a tight end and punter after his senior season ... averaged 41 yards per punt as a senior ... had a 74-yard punt in the state semifinals ... had three punts of over 70 yards during his career ... led his team in receptions as a tight end during his senior season, catching 33 passes for 410 yards and five touchdowns ... totaled 76 receptions for 1,035 yards and six touchdowns during his four-year career ... also played baseball in high school.
