A kicker at Broughton High School who played for head coach Billy Lane and head coach Chris Martin during his four years ... recipient of the Bill Dooley Chapter Scholar-Athlete award ... was the CAP 8 Special Teams Player of the Year ... knocked a 55-yard field goal and 70 percent of his kickoffs went for touchbacks ... all-conference honoree ... academic all-conference honoree ... involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes ... involved with Warmth for Wake where he helps cut and deliver wood to people who still use wood to heat their homes ... also takes part in the Green Chair Project ... played soccer entire life until high school ... did not make the high school soccer team and heard the football team needed a kicker ... tried out and made the varsity team as a freshman ... son of Mark and Daisy King ... has a younger sister, Daisy.
